Directions to Lidmoor Farm

Lidmoor is 40 miles north of York and 9 miles north of Kirkbymoorside.
Get to Kirkbymoorside using the A170 from Thirsk or Pickering.

From whichever direction you approach, you will come to a roundabout on the A170 at Kirkbymoorside. Turn (north) off the roundabout up the High Street. Carry on up through the town and follow the road out of the top end of the town (bear left at mini roundabout at top of High St)

Approx one mile out of Kirkbymoorside bear left to Fadmoor (sign posted).

Now stay on this road! … through Fadmoor village  
… take no notice of various lanes to left or right, bends etc.

2 miles after Fadmoor you will cross a cattle grid and find yourself on a wild heather moor.

           ... you will wonder if you are where you ought to be. You are!

A further 2 miles onto the moor the road dips down and you will cross a small bridge on a hairpin bend. 
                                                                           ... you’re getting warm!

Another half mile finds you on the top again on a straight road. 300 yards along the straight find the turn to the left marked ‘no through road’ and also marked with a small sign ‘High and Low Lidmoor’. Take this turn.

Go 500 yards to a ‘T’ junction and turn right.

There is a closed gate across the road after which the tarmac road ends.

Go down the long steep drive to the farm.

Have no fear, its ok for ordinary vehicles, but go with care!
